There's a caravan a few pitches over which a family appear to be living in. Rumour has it Housing are aware and they've actually put them there as temporary accommodation. They've certainly been there two years. Mother and two school aged children.

They have a dog. Cute little grey hairy thing. Saw it today chained up outside laying on the steps. It had clearly been put outside for some misdemeanor or perhaps mum couldn't cope today - but it had to be outside. Poor little thing looked defeated and broken-hearted. Immediately my heart went out to it. I said "Hello pupper" and smiled but got nothing back - not even a look in my direction. Now I'm broken hearted. I walk away.

On the way back from the shop I saw it again - still in the same position. I said hello again and made kiss kiss noises that I used to make at Clio, and it's tail started to wag. I feel more reassured now that it's just on the naughty step. It's clearly well-fed and has toys to play with, and often it's not chained up (ie inside or out for walks) but in that moment I wanted to whisk it away and make things better.

And that's what's wrong with me.
